William B. Easterly posted a condolence
Friday, January 6, 2006
On behalf of the Foundation of Fulton-Montgomery Community College, I wish to express our deep sadness at losing a friend and benefactor. Marillyn and her late husband, through their generosity helped to ensure the future strength of healthcare in our area by donating $100,000 in the late 1990?s to establish the Dr. Robert and Marillyn Kemp Nursing Fund. They stated in the press conference when they announced their gift, ?unfortunately we had no children. Therefore it seemed appropriate to us to donate to an institute of higher education the funds we would have spent on our own children?s education. The future of our area is education, education, education. We have faith that FMCC will move us closer to a better future.?
They gave of themselves to ensure a better future for our community. Our thanks can never be adequately expressed.
We will miss, but never forget Marillyn and her quiet steadfast support.
