Obituary of Rose Ruggiero

Mrs. Rose Ruggiero, 103, a lifelong Gloversville resident, died Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Wells Nursing Home, Johnstown. She was born June 15, 1913 in Gloversville, the daughter of Joseph and Carmela Mulone Catania. She was employed as a glove worker by Mario Papa and Sons for 29 years, retiring in 1989. Mrs. Ruggiero was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit and an Honorary Member of the Sisters of the Holy Spirit. She is survived by two daughters: Marilyn Gimigliano (Edward Babb) of Newton, NJ and Rosalind Reichard (Donald) of Moneta, VA; a daughter-in-law Meg McCauley; 5 grandchildren: Mark Gimigliano, Andrew Gimigliano, Stephen Reichard, Jeffrey Reichard and Alison Ruggiero; 7 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and by her husband Americus "Mig" Ruggiero, by her son Mark Ruggiero and her four siblings: Angelo Catania, Louis Catania, Jennie Mele and Antoinette Ruggiero. The family will receive relatives and friends from 10:15 to 11:15 am on Monday, November 7, 2016 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St, Gloversville, where a Prayer Service will follow at 11:15 am. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 12 noon at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 151 S. Main St, Gloversville, with the Rev. Donald Czelusniak as celebrant. Interment will take place at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the charity of your choice.
