Obituary of Katherine M. Boswell

Mrs. Katherine M. Boswell, 86 years old of Amsterdam, died Tuesday at St. Mary?s Hospital where she had been a patient since January 9th of this year. Mrs. Boswell was born January 16, 1920 in the Town of Amsterdam, a daughter of James and Satie Ensle Hutchison and was a life long resident of the area. She married Walter C. Boswell on May 28, 1941. She and her husband lived on DeWitt Street on the South side of Amsterdam for more than 60 years until his death in March of 2004. Shortly thereafter she moved to Hillcrest Spring where she resided until her recent hospitalization. Mrs. Boswell is survived by 2 sons, Harry Boswell and his wife Betty of Endwell, New York and Richard Boswell and his wife Nadine of Amsterdam, New York; 3 daughters, Carol Casabonne and her husband Richard of Newton, Massachusetts, Janet Boswell of Roxbury, Connecticut and Christine Koscher and her husband Brian of Simsbury, Connecticut; her sister, Mary Brooker of Broadalbin, New York and 6 grandchildren, David and Sally Boswell, Meg Villavicencio, Peter Casabonne, and Michaela and Brendan Koscher. Her niece and 3 nephews also survive. A Legacy Candle funeral service will be held 10:00am Friday at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. Burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 5 until 8pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one?s choice.
