Obituary of Barbara J. Baker

Miss Barbara J. Baker, 60, of Johnstown, died Sunday at her residence. She was born July 25, 1943 in Gloversville, daughter of Helen Oare Baker and the late Frederick Baker. Barbara was educated in Fonda-Fultonville schools and an area resident all of her life. In addition to her family, her greatest love was for the New York Yankees. She has been a devoted fan for many years. She is survived by her mother of Johnstown, a daughter, Mary Beth Baker, of Johnstown and three brothers, Ronald G. Baker of Providence, New York, Richard F. Baker of Gloversville and Donald R. Baker of Canajoharie. She is also survived by two sisters, Margaret Miller of Johnstown and Shirley Van Avery of Fonda and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 1 pm Wednesday from the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street Gloversville with Reverend Wayne Jones, Pastor of Foothills United Methodist Church officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday 11 am to 1 pm prior to the service. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda.
