Obituary of Floyd Eggleston

Mr. Floyd ?Woody? Eggleston, age 81 of Gloversville, died Saturday, February 18, 2006 at St. Peter's Hospital, Albany, NY. He was born March 23, 1924 in South Colton, NY, the son of the late Ethrum and Florence Montel Eggleston. He was employed by Coleco Industries in Gloversville, and also worked on several farms in the area. He was a member of the former Gloversville Eagles Aerie. Mr. Eggleston is survived by four children, Cecilia Sweet of Gloversville, Floyd R. Eggleston of Mayfield, John E. Eggleston of Gloversville, and Michelle Bell of St. Johnsville; a brother, Sylvester ?Egger? Eggleston of Gloversville; ten grandchildren, Jacob, Amanda, Kelly, Floyd, Bruno, Jason, John and Jared Eggleston, and Samantha and Harold Moore; four great-grandchildren, Catalina, Jonas and Elora Eggleston, and Damian Teeling; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife Sally Johnson Eggleston, and by his brothers Herbert and Leo Eggleston. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 pm Tuesday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St.; Gloversville. A private service will take place at the convenience of the family with Pastor Brad Danler officiating. Interment will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
