Obituary of Milford Hale Louer
Milford Hale Louer, Jr., 69, of S. Pawling St., Hagaman, passed away Monday morning at St. Mary?s Hospital in Amsterdam.
Born on August 22, 1936 a son of Milford Hale and Mary Trendowicz Louer, Sr. He was a lifelong area resident and was a 1954 graduate of Amsterdam High School.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean War from 1954-1956.
Mr. Louer was currently serving as the Deputy Mayor of the Village of Hagaman and was also a Village Trustee.
He worked for many years as a Bus Driver for the Greater Amsterdam School District, retiring 8 years ago. He was a member of the Rocky Ridge Hunting Club and was a former member of the Hagaman Volunteer Fire Department. He also was a member of the Hagaman Historical Society, the VFW Post #8690, Broadalbin, New York and the Calvary Reformed Church in Hagaman.
Milford enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He married Kathleen Bellows Louer on June 30, 1957.
In addition to his wife, survivors include three sons, David Hale Louer Anne of Albany, New York, James Hale Louer of Hagaman, and Donald Walter Louer of Amsterdam; one daughter, Nancy Edwards Donald of Northville, New York; three grandsons, Daniel David Louer of Albany, New York, Matthew Walter Louer and Nicholas Donald Louer of Amsterdam and one aunt, Marion Palmer and her husband Jim of Queensbury, New York. He was pre-deceased by a son, Kevin Milford Louer, in 1959 and his stepmother, Dorothy McKnight Louer.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2006 at 11:00AM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, Inc., 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam with the Rev. Cynthia Leonard presiding. Interment will be in the spring in Hagaman Mills, Cemetery, Hagaman, New York. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 5-8PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hagaman Volunteer Fire Department 126 S. Pawling St., Hagaman, New York, 12086, the Calvary Reformed Church, 15 Church Street, Hagaman, or to the First United Methodist Church of Hagaman, 122 S. Pawling Street, Hagaman, New York, 12086.
