Obituary of Mary Baker

Mary Dobietys Baker, 92, of Vrooman Avenue, passed away late Thursday evening at Montgomery Meadows, where she resided. Born in Amsterdam on Sept. 26, 1913, the daughter of Ignatius and Julia Draus Dobietys, she was educated locally and lived here her entire life. Mary was employed by the Consolidated Novelty Company until she retired in 1975. She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus? Roman Catholic Church. Her husband, Joseph Baker whom she married in 1938, died in 1952. Also, her brothers, Anthony and James, and sisters, Sophie and Agnes all predeceased her. Her loving family includes her daughter, Gail and her husband Joseph Ambrose of Amsterdam; her grandson, Joseph J. and his wife Kelley Ambrose, and several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be offered by Fr. David Mickiewicz at St. Stanislaus? Church at the convenience of Mary?s family. There will be no calling hours and interment will take place in the family plot in St. Stanislaus? Cemetery. Contributions may be made in her memory to St. Stanislaus? Church, or GAVAC both in care of Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, to whom the family has entrusted her arrangements.
