Obituary of Ada M. Rava
Mrs. Ada M. Sparks Rava, age 77, of Gloversville, died Friday, March 17, 2006 at Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home, Gloversville, following a long illness.
She was born on April 4, 1928 in Proctor, VT, the daughter of the late Frank and Gertrude King Sparks. A homemaker, Mrs. Rava was a member of St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, and loved to play BINGO.
Ada was married to George W. Rava in 1954. Mr. Rava died in 1979. She is survived by three sons, Russell Sparks of Suwanee, GA; Patrick Rava of Gloversville, and George Rava of Loxley, Alabama; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Thomas Rava, and her siblings Frank Sparks Jr; Bernard Sparks, William Sparks, Albert Sparks and Marcella Wittmann.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 2 to 4 pm Sunday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a prayer service will be held at 10:00 am Monday with the Rev. Paul Butler officiating. Interment will take place at FernDale Cemetery, Johnstown. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Research Hospital, P.O. Box 3704, Memphis, TN 38103.
