Dear Pat,
I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom passing away. I wanted you to know that I was thinking of you and wishing you well. What a wonderful gift you gave your Mom ! I can only imagine how grateful she must have been to have had you so close to her - I'm sure you gave her much comfort, joy and peace.
I've been thinking about our young, foolish and carefree days, when the only thing we had to do was worry about silly things that seemed at the time terribly important, like where are we going Saturday night, who's seeing who and why, and no one better fall off the hayride and get run over by the wagon !!!
Now, as adults at least by age - I'm still trying to act like I'm 20-something - more or less , we have to worry about way more important things, like our parents, our futures, world peace - well, all the stuff we never even imagined we'd have to worry about as goofy " young adults ".
Where did the time go - when did we actually " grow up " - where did all these responsibilities come from - and whatever happened to worrying about MY MOM NEVER, EVER letting us have another hayride ever again !!
Why can't we just stay young and goofy !!!
Such is our lives as adults. I guess, as our parents took care of us, so must we in return, take care of our parents.
How lucky your Mom was to have you there to take care of her.
I hope your fond memories of her bring you comfort, joy and peace now.
