Obituary of Virginia F. Sheffield

Mrs. Virginia F. Sheffield, 64 of Gloversville, died Sunday March 19, 2006. She was born in Manhattan, N.Y. on January 3, 1942 daughter of the late Frank and Lucille Parker Bowie. Mrs. Sheffield was educated in Staten Island schools and a home maker. A quiet and devoted family person, she was a loving wife and mother and a devoted grandmother and sister. Virginia was married to Ronald Sheffield who died in 1994. She is survived by her children; Shirell, Shaneika and Ronell M. Sheffield all of Gloversville, La Toy and Monique Sheffield both of Schenectady, Ronell and Ladrina Sheffield both of New York City. She is also survived by three brothers; Raymond, Joseph and Charles Bowie all of New York City, thirteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Additional survivors include a son in law, a daughter in law, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was pre-deceased by a daughter; Christine Sparks and brothers; Frank, Robert, Jack and Rudolph Bowie. A service will be held Wednesday 2 pm from the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street Gloversville with Reverend Ruby Smith officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1-2 pm prior to the service. Cremation will follow.
