Obituary of Jane M. Krawczyk
Jane M. Krawczyk, 86, formerly of the corner of Belfance and Maclachlan Roads, passed away Tuesday evening the Montgomery Meadows.
Born in Amsterdam on September 10, 1919, the daughter of Peter and Margaret Daye Mochrie, she lived here her entire life. She was a graduate of the Class of 1937 of Amsterdam High School. Jane held that class close to her heart and was an active member of its reunion committees. She was a member of the former Forest Avenue Methodist Church. For thirty-nine years, Jane was employed by Mohasco as a clerical worker until she retired.
Her husband, Adam Krawczyk, whom she married in 1967, predeceased her in 1974. Also, a granddaughter, Kathleen Smyth and sisters, Hazel and Corrine Mochrie and Marion Hansen all predeceased her.
Her loving family includes her daughters, Carol Robert Sluzarz of Sarasota, Florida and Sandy Zarecki of Amsterdam, late, Bill; her brothers, Donald Mochrie of Amsterdam and Lawrence Mochrie of Largo, Florida; grandchildren, Michele Zarecki, James Sluzarz, and Debra Kimsey; three great-grandchildren, Ellen, Elizabeth and Christina Kimsey; as well as nieces and nephews.
A Legacy Candle Ceremony will take place Saturday at 12 noon at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday evening from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. Interment is in Fairview Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Community Hospice of Amsterdam, in care of the funeral home.
