Obituary of Helmar Lenz

Amsterdam, NY-Mr. Helmar Lenz, age 84, of Hagaman, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, Nov. 10, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam, NY surrounded by his family. He was born on Jan. 29, 1932 in Latavia, son of the late Gustav and Augustine Kruger Lenz and last employed as a corregator with Georgia Pacific in Scotia. He also worked for 26 years Glen Mohawk, pasteurizing milk. Helmar also loved working his families farms from Minerville to Canajoharie. He was a PFC in the Korean War and was a great polka dancer. He was joined in marriage on June 11, 1960 with Mary Anne Gaglioti who resides in Amsterdam. Survivors include his children, Beverly Anne Lenz-Houle and husband Timothy of Hagaman, Rosalie Chichester of Hagaman, the late Jo Ann Langlois-Lenz, Jenny Bouck and husband Allen of Perth and the late Aron Lenz; many siblings, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family at Hagaman Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
