My dad wasn't only my father, but my best friend. He was always there for me or anyone who needed him. He could make anyone laugh with all his great stories. My friends were always telling me how funny he was and what a great guy he was. He was very proud to be Irish and to serve his country. I'm so glad that in many way's I am like him. I too are proud to be irish, I also loved to bowl and dance, also love football, and didn't like the yankess or cowboys like my dad. I'm glad to be in great company with the things we both shared. He was a great dad and he'll be in my heart forever. I know will all see him again when we reach heaven. Mw wife Jennifer loved my dad very much as well, and was honored for the years she knew him. god bless everyone and thank you for all those who loved him and payed their respects, he would have been very honored.

Does not seem real.....Yes, He was a good man. I have fond memories of Dick. Played a lot of golf with him. Always smiling and having fun. And he would do anything for you. One of a kind. He will not be forgotten.

Iam very sorry to hear about your loss. I just lost my mother in Feb.who was Anna Long's sister Ken's first wife. It is very hard to say see you later I believe it is never good bye to your parent, your partner, your family member, your friend. We don't cry for them we cry for ourselve because they are no long with us they are with JESUS. And we are left behind, until our time. It isn't easy, but with the love of the LORD we make it thru another day. May the peace, joy and the blessings of the LORD fill all your homes.

My brother Dick was a very special man. I will always remember growing up together, swimming, skating, bowling, teaching him to dance, and playing cards. My brother and I never had an argument. I promised our mother that I would always take care of him and I feel that I have done this to the best of my ability. It has been difficult to see my little brother pass away before me, but I know that he is in a better place. Memories of my brother will remain in my heart forever.

Mrs. Long and family,
Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I am so grateful that I had the chance to meet Richard & you and your family while Richard stayed with us at the Residential Healthcare Facility. I was so very sadden to hear of his passing. I enjoyed so much listening to him tell me stories about his life and family, all of which he cherished so very much. He was a very special man and I am just so glad I had the chance to meet him and all of you. If there is anything you need, please let us know! Truly Yours, Cheryl Bowman, CNA 7-3 shift

My grandpa had to of been the only true irish cowboy. If that make any sense at all. He loved his coffee as much as any cowboy could love his whiskey. He lived in a small town full of bowling lanes, poker nights, golfballs and his family. He was always happy and I don't think anyone could be happier. I know that I am definitely a better person because I knew him. He taught me to love life, do what you please no matter what the time or day, taught me to trust even when sometimes it isn't deserved and to make the best of the time you have. He devoted his entire life to making others happy and safe. There's nothing in the world more precious than the memories I have of him and the love I will always keep in my heart. I just hope one day I will be as happy and as lucky in life as he was. He was the type of guy who would make you pancakes at midnight if he thought it would make you any happier and what good pancakes they were! All the westerns you watched and read are how much I love and how much I will always love you. I hope heaven makes you as happy as you always made me.
<3 You could never have meant more to me if you tried. I L<3VE YOU!!!<3

My grandpa was an incredible man, probably the most dedicated, caring person I know. He always put others before himself. He always did what he wanted, a lot of times got people aggrivated, but that's the kind of person he was and I wouldn't change anything about him. He loved to bowl, play golf,do puzzles, and be with family. The thing I will miss is his amazing pancakes and how he always sang. I love him to death and I think he's better in heaven than in pain. He had a great life and I'm greatful to have been apart of it. I'm going to miss him and he'll always have a spot in my heart. I wouldn't trade my memories with him for the world.
<3 I love you Richard A. Long. I will never EVER forget you. <3
