Obituary of Kathryn L. Dievendorf
Kathryn L. ?Kitty? Dievendorf, 102, of Reed Street, Canajoharie, New York died Monday afternoon at St. Mary?s Hospital in Amsterdam.
Born in the Town of Middleburgh, Schoharie, New York on January 3, 1904, she was the daughter of the late Orman and Lottie VanWagen Tryon. She was raised in Cobleskill, New York; she was a graduate of the Cobleskill High School and the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Massachusetts where she received a degree in Public School Music.
For many years Kathryn was a piano teacher and had a great love for teaching many young students privately in the Canajoharie area.
Kathryn was a long-standing member of the Canajoharie Reformed Church, where she was active in the church choir as a soloist and junior choir director. She was also a member of the Fort Rensselaer Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution; the Monday Evening Club; the Canajoharie ? Fort Plain Garden Club and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Kathryn loved to travel and enjoyed square dancing with her husband; her dogs were her life.
She was married to C. Everett Dievendorf, who died September 20, 1977.
Survivors include several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2006, at 11:00 am at the Fort Plain Cemetery, with the Rev. Lisa Vander Wal officiating. There will be no calling hours.
