Obituary of Josephine Boiano

Mrs. Josephine Prokop Boiano, age 92 of Gloversville, died Tuesday morning, April 4, 2006 at Pineview Commons Home for Adults, Johnstown. She was born October 8, 1913 in Floral Park, Long Island, a daughter of the late George and Mary Lateska Prokop. A resident of Gloversville for most of her life, she was employed prior to her marriage at the Nathan Littauer Hospital. She was a member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, and its former Rosary Society. Josephine was married to Vincent James Boiano for over fifty years. Mr. Boiano died March 5, 2003. She is survived by ten nieces and nephews, Pauline Antos, Edgar Prahl, George Prokop, Edward Prokop, Mary Lou Bien, Joan Frament, James Sullivan, John Sullivan, David Boiano and Patricia Henry; several grand nieces and grand nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Prokop Prahl, and by her brothers, Joseph, John, Roman and Frank Prokop, and her niece, Alice Blake. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 pm Thursday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St.; Gloversville, where a prayer service will be conducted 9:15 am Friday, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, Gloversville. The Very Rev. Donald Czelusniak will be the celebrant. Interment will take place at FernDale Cemetery, Johnstown. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church Building Fund, 149 S. Main St., Gloversville, NY 12078
