Obituary of Harold C. Lovelace
Harold C. Lovelace, 67, of State Hwy. 30 North, Amsterdam, passed away unexpectedly Monday morning April 17, 2006 at St. Mary?s Hospital in Amsterdam.
Born in Lyons, New York on April 30, 1938 he was a son of Cyrus Josiah and Elizabeth Ann Sherman Lovelace. He attended schools in Lyons, NY.
Mr. Lovelace was a U.S. Army Veteran serving from 1959 to 1962. He worked for many different companies in Amsterdam, NY. He first worked for the former Mohawk Sportswear Company, Coleco Industries, Mohawk Finishing Products and last retired from Mohawk Dairy.
He at one time played bocce at the Port Jackson Bocce Club in Amsterdam and also enjoyed bowling. Mr. Lovelace most of all enjoyed life and being around his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He married Rose Y. Zeppieri Lovelace in 1957. In addition to his wife survivors include two sons, Harold G. Lovelace and his companion Margaret Stabile of Schenectady, New York, Kevin R. Lovelace and his companion Loriann of Fultonville, New York; one daughter, Alice Stride and her husband Ron of Amsterdam; one brother, Ralph Lovelace of Amsterdam; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Winifred Kraft.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 19, 2006 at 11:00A.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam with the Rev. Carol Lee Coye presiding. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home from 10:00 to 11:00A.M.
