Obituary of Donald R. Thompson

Mr. Donald R. Thompson, 73, of Mayfield, died Tuesday, April 18, 2006. He was born in Medford, Massachusetts on August 17, 1932, son of the late Harold and Daphne Peterson Thompson. Mr. Thompson was a graduate of Hudson Valley Community College and employed as a technician for Lockheed Martin most of his life, retiring in 1994. Donald was a well known area ham radio operator and member of the Fulton County Antique Car Club. His special hobby of raising and breeding sled dogs was a part of his former memebership in the Mohawk Valley Sled Dog Club. Mr. Thompson was also an Air Force veteran. He is survived by his wife, Doris "Betty" Coloney Thompson of Mayfield, whom he married on March 26, 1960; a daughter, Heather Thompson of Saco, Maine and a sister, Linda Thompson of Arlington, Massachusetts. There will be no calling hours. Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
