Obituary of Jeanette Gonzalez

Jeanette Gonzalez, 53, of Virginia Lane, Highland Gardens Apartments, Amsterdam, passed away Tuesday afternoon at her home following a courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 26, 1952 in Melrose, Long Island, New York, a daughter of Alexander and Ada May Yoos Cherniachovsky. She was a graduate of West Hemstead High School in Long Island, NY. She came to this area in 1992 from Long Island. She worked as a home health aid and later worked for Liberty in Amsterdam and last for Ward Products also in Amsterdam. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Long Island, NY. Survivors include her companion, Jose Solis of Amsterdam; two sons, Christopher M. Davis of Amsterdam and Alex Gonzalez of Gloversville, New York; two brothers, Alex Cherniachovsky of Florida and Nick Cherniachovsky of Sharon Springs, New York; six sisters, Roseann Laskowski of Amsterdam, Patricia Smith of Philadelphia, Ada Marie Cherniachovsky, Joanne Chisena of Virginia, Teresa A. Dobbin of Sharon Springs, New York and Bertha Gonzalez of Amsterdam. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was pre-deceased by two brothers, Albert Cherniachovsky and Alfie Cherniachovsky and one sister, Peggy Cherniachovsky. Funeral Services will be held on Friday April 28, 2006 at 12:00 Noon at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam. Interment will be in St. Michael?s Cemetery, Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday Today April 27, 2006 from 4-7:00P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to a charity of one?s choice.
