Obituary of Victoria T. Rutkowski
Victoria T. Rutkowski 90, of Locust Avenue passed away peacefully Sunday morning at St. Mary?s Hospital.
Born in Amsterdam on April 15, 1916, the daughter of Lawrence and Mary Mazur, she received her education locally and was a lifelong resident.
Mrs. Rutkowski was employed by Mohawk Sportswear and retired over twenty years ago from Coleco.
An excellent cook, she lovingly shared her delicious Polish specialties with family and friends.
She was a communicant of the Church of St. John the Baptist, and also of St. Stanislaus? Roman Catholic Church and was a member of the Rosary Society at both churches.
On June 27, 1935 she was united in marriage to John F. Rutkowski who predeceased her on Dec. 1, 1970.
Also, brothers, Joseph and Frank Mazur and sisters, Anna Akstulewicz, Katherine Tylutki, Nellie Baranowski, Mary Ludwin and Sophie Majewski all predeceased her.
Her loving family includes her three daughters, Lydia Genevieve Rutkowski of Waterbury, Connecticut, Anne and her husband George Van Heusen of Scotia, and Theresa and her husband Charles Kowalski of Amsterdam; a brother, Louis Mazur of Broadalbin; grandchildren, Ron, John and Tom Kowalski, Kevin Van Heusen and his wife Ariana and Nancy DiLallo and her husband Chris; her great grandson, Isaiah Kowalski as well as nieces, nephews and cousins and a sister-in-law, Sr. Mary Agatha Rutkowski C.S.S.F.
Services are Tuesday at 9:15 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed by the Con-celebrated Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at the Church of St. John the Baptist with Fr. Stanley J. Swierzowski, celebrant. Interment is in St. Stanislaus? Cemetery. Calling hours are today Monday from 4-6 pm at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made in Victoria?s memory in lieu of flowers to the Church of St. John the Baptist in care of the funeral home.
