Obituary of David D. Young

Mr. David D. Young, 57 of Gloversville, died Wednesday following a long period of disability. He was born July 11, 1948 in Gloversville, son of Elmer Young and the late Eleanor De Rocker Young. Mr. Young was educated in Gloversville schools and served four years in the Marine corps including fifteen months in Viet Nam. He was awarded the Puprle Heart for injuries suffered during the war. He had been head foreman for the city of Gloversville in the highway department for many years, retiting in 1993. An Avid outdoorsman, he especailly loved hunting and fishing. Survivors include seven children; David D. Young Jr. of Gloversville, Tammy Cook of St. Johnsville, Robert Briggs of Germany, David Briggs of Florida, Michele Lawrence and Tina Husted both of Rockwood and Dorothy Snyder of Northville; his father of Gloversville, one sister; Christine Bona of Gloversville, two brothers; Elmer C. Young and Brian Young, both of Gloversville. Additional survivors include twenty-one grandchildren and two great grandchildren, nieces and nephew. There will be no calling hours or services. Cremation took place at Parkview Crematory, Schenectady. Arrangements are by the Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville.
