Obituary of Jane B. Smith

Mrs. Jane B. Smith, 82 years old of Belfance Road, Amsterdam, died Saturday at St. Mary?s Hospital after being stricken at Montgomery Meadows where she had been a patient for several days. Mrs. Smith was born June 21, 1923 in Amsterdam, a daughter of Albert and Anna Hunt Belfance, and was a life long resident of Amsterdam. She had been a member of the Minaville Reformed Church and the Labora Club. Mrs. Smith was known as an excellent cook. She married Elwin C. Smith on July 26, 1967 who survives. Mrs. Smith is also survived by her son; Scott W. DeForest of Amsterdam, 2 daughters; Beth S. Tucci of Simi Valley, California and LynnB. Vosko and her husband Jim of Amsterdam, a brother; Donald Belfance of Gloversville, NY, a sister; Beverly Gilmaier of Amsterdam, 5 grandchildren; Anitra and Jenean Tucci, Jimmy Vosko, Jr., and Amber and Seth Vosko. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Mrs. Smith was predeceased by a brother James Belfance. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. Burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery. There will be no calling period.
