Obituary of Elizabeth A. Byster

Elizabeth A. ?Betty? Byster, 85, of Second Avenue, Tribes Hill, passed away Thursday afternoon at St. Mary?s Hospital after a long illness. Born in Scotia, New York on May 26, 1921, the daughter of George, Sr. and Gloria Voci Marco, she was educated in Schenectady and resided there until moving to Tribes Hill in 2004. A homemaker, Betty loved animals and enjoyed being with her family especially her great grandchildren. She was of the Roman Catholic faith. On September 21, 1940 she was united in marriage to Charles J. Byster who preceded her in death on March 3, 1980. Also her brothers, Frank and Joseph Marco, sisters, Annette Paolucci and Dolly Strang predeceased her. Her loving family includes her daughters, Avis Arthur C. Emery of Anderson, South Carolina, and Deborah Dickson of Tribes Hill; granddaughters, Kristen David Sowle and Janna Fred Walsh; great grandchildren, Megan Ryder, Olivia Simons, Leah and Kara Sowle, and Davin Walsh; a brother, George Marco, Jr.; sisters, Mary Hawes, Julia Turbak all of Rotterdam and Elsie Brancatti of Roanoke, Virginia; many nieces, nephews and cousins. A celebration of her life will take place on Sunday at 1:00 pm at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Tribes Hill Volunteer Fire Department. Burial will take place later in Hudson, Florida.
