Obituary of Annalie Gugliemelli

Mrs. Annalie Shaffer Gugliemelli, of Division Street, Amsterdam died on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany surrounded by her loving family. A lifelong area resident, Annalie was born on December 6, 1945. She attended city schools and was employed as a Nurse's Aide for the former Mt. Loretto Nursing Home for many years. Annalie was also a foster parent for several years for Montgomery County. On October 10, 1964 she was united in marriage to Andrew A. Gugliemelli Sr. That union lasted 51 wonderful years until his passing, one year ago on December 12, 2015. She was also predeceased by all of her brothers, Joseph, Robert, Michael and David Shaffer. Annalie will be remembered for being a wonderful mother and grandmother. She loved her family dearly, and enjoyed spending time with them. She was a wonderful cook and was known for her meatballs and sauce. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her four sons; Christian J. (Tina) Gugliemelli of Hagaman, NY, Andrew A. Gugliemelli II of Amsterdam, Joseph (Tami) Gugliemelli of Amsterdam, and Michael (Candice) Gugliemelli of Hagaman; two daughters, Laura (Bunn) Chan of Staten Island, NY and Emily Gugliemelli of Amsterdam; nine cherished grandchildren; Christian Gugliemelli, Isabella Gugliemelli , Zakary Gugliemelli, Nicholas Mochrie, Gianna Gugliemelli, Maddison Gugliemelli, Jonathan Gugliemelli and Aiden Gugliemelli, and one grandchild on the way; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Monday December 19, 2016 at 1:00P.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, with Father O. Robert DeMartinis presiding. Private interment will take place in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday prior to the funeral service from 11:00A.M until 1:00PM at the funeral home.
