Obituary of Alice M. Chiricko
Alice M. Frazier Chiricko, 98, formerly of Harvard Place, Amsterdam, passed away Sunday January 13, 2008 at St. Clare's Hospital in Schenectady, NY.
Born in Amsterdam, NY on November 29, 1909 a daughter of Anthony and Anna Conti Altieri. She was a lifelong Amsterdam resident and attended local schools.
Alice worked for many years as an inspector at the former Mohawk Carpets in Amsterdam. She also worked at the former A & P Market on Guy Park Ave and last worked for Amsterdam Printing and Litho Co. retiring in 1973.
She was a parishioner of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. Alice's family was the focus of her life. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh and be around people.
She was first married to Joseph G. Frazier on May 10, 1936; he died on September 21, 1957. She later married Dominick Chiricko on September 6, 1963. He passed away June 10, 1978.
Mrs. Chiricko is survived by one daughter, Maryann Haskell and her husband Roger of Scotia, NY. One brother, Richard Altieri of Florida. Grandchildren, Roberta O'Connor Mike, Joseph G. Frazier Jeanette, Anita Newell Bruce, Alissa Altieri Shea Jim, Nick Altieri Tina. Great Grandchildren, Jeremy, Anthony, Rachel, Nicholas, Mary Alice, Robert, Joseph, Benjamin, Katrina, Rebecca, Eric, Liam, Emma and Luke.
Nieces and nephews also survive.
She was predeceased by her son, Robert J. Frazier, and his wife Clorinda Zumbolo Frazier, in 2002. Brothers, Frank Altieri, Edward Altieri, Eugene Altieri, Herman Altieri. Sisters, Rose Martuscello, Helen Chiricko, Amelia Canale Percassi, Josephine Sievert and Alvena Zappone.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday January 17, 2008 at 8:15A.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:15A.M. at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, East Main St. Amsterdam, NY. Interment is in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ft. Johnson, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday January 16, 2008 from 4:00P.M. to 7:00P.M. at the funeral home.
