Obituary of Carl E. White
Carl E. White, Jr., 83, passed away at his home Monday, January 14, 2008. He was born October 24, 1924, the son of Carl and Mabel Brown White in Glens Falls, New York.
Carl joined the United States Army and served his country during World War II. He was the recipient of four Purple Hearts. Early in life, he worked as a taxi cab driver. He was also employed by Memorial Hospital in Albany where he worked in maintenance.
He enjoyed watching television, going to the OTB and playing lotto at Frank's in Gloversville.
He was predeceased by his wife, Emily Perry, in 1997.
Survivors include three sons: Gary Barbara White of Troy, Patrick Gloria Cornelius of Guilderland and Ron Kim Cornelius of Boca Raton, Florida; four daughters: Vaila Ed Joy of Delmar, Linda Ron Francis of Modesto, California, Sandy Rick Costa of Modesto, California and Debbie Jay Thomas of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his wife, Carl was predeceased by a sister, Ruth Greenwood.
The family would like to extend special appreciation to Donna, Sylvia and Dick for their unending support and devotion to Carl. A very special thank you also to everyone associated with Mountain Valley Hospice.
Cremation will take place at Park View Crematorium in Schenectady, NY. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Walrath and Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville.
