Obituary of Arnold G. Wunder

Mr. Arnold G. Wunder, 73, of West Caldwell, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at his daughter's home in Canajoharie on January 17, 2008. He was born on July 14, 1934 in Brooklyn the son of the late Gustav and Olga Pohl Wunder. Arnold was educated in New Jersey and received his education at Mt. Clair State College. He was employed as a teacher for the New Jersey City Education Association for over 30 years, retiring in 2000. Mr. Wunder served his country in many positions during his lifetime. He served in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1958 as a Control Technician, 2nd Class. After six years of service, he then enlisted in the Air National Guard serving for another 20 years. He was a also a faithful member of the Masonic Lodge located in Essex County for many years. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. His is survived by his wife of over 44 years, the former Gloria Guarino, whom he married on June 19, 1963; a daughter, Vicki Boppert and her husband Christopher of Canajoharie; one granddaughter, Jane Marie Boppert; and a brother, Fred Wunder of Florida. A Celebration of Life and Legacy Candle Ceremony will take place on Monday, January 21, 2008 at 1p.m. at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to a local food bank of choice.
