Obituary of Anna J. Culver
Mrs. Anna J. Culver, age 82 of Gloversville, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam, following a long illness.
She was born February 22, 1925 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late Jake and Louise Pathe Van Natter. A graduate of Gloversville High School, Anna began working part-time at Robison & Smith Laundry at the age of 16. She retired from there over sixty years later a secialty presser.
Mrs. Culver was a member of Foothills United Methodist Church, Gloversville. She enjoyed reading books, and was an avid lover of pets.
Anna was married on January 25, 1946 to Robert K. Culver who survives. She is also survived by two children, Carol A. Bunce of Poultney, Vermont and Gary R. Culver Sr. Joanne of Gloversville; four grandchildren, Barbara Betit Steven of Poultney, Vermont, Kelly-Jo Frasier Tim of Gloversville, Karla Arell Erick of Carmel and Gary R. Culver Jr. Jessica of Perth; ten great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her brother William Van Natter and her sister Florence White.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 7 pm Friday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a funeral service will be held at 10 am Saturday with The Rev. Cynthia J. VanAllen officiating. Interment will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to St. Judes Research Hospital, P.O. Box 3704, Memphis, TN 38103 or to the James A. Brennan Memorial Humane Society, 437 Nine Mile Tree Road, Gloversville, NY 12078.
