Obituary of Beatrice E. Tolson Sweet
Beatrice E. Tolson Sweet, 89, of Union Mills Road, Broadalbin, passed away Wednesday morning at the Mountain Valley Hospice House with her son at her side.
Born in Amsterdam on April 23, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Anna Dynes Tolson. She was a graduate of the Wilbur H. Lynch High School. In her youth, Beatrice was very athletic, and was a member of the track team, and an avid speed skater. She was also a lifelong soccer fan. She was a member of St. Ann's Episcopal Church, and at one time the Bradt and Mohonason School PTA in Rotterdam.
She leaves her sons; James A. "J.A." Sweet and his wife Linda of Amsterdam and Gregory S. and his wife Debbie of Colorado Springs, Co.; grandchildren; Danielle Nicole Sweet, Jason Wayne Sweet, Kathy Michele Conn and Cheryl Lynn Sweet; great grandchildren; Morgan, Leah, Katie and Jodi; her last surviving brother; Edward Tolson and his wife Carol of Amsterdam as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The Office For The Burial Of The Dead will be read and Holy Eucharist celebrated Saturday at 11:00 am at St. Ann's Episcopal Church, 24 Division Street, Amsterdam by the Rector, Fr. Christopher A. Smith.
Relatives and friends are invited. There are no calling hours and interment is in Fairview Cemetery. Flowers are acceptable; however, those who wish may donate in Beatrice's memory to Shriners' Children's Hospital, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
Her family has entrusted her arrangements to the care of the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam.
