Obituary of Betty Ann Getwright

Betty Ann Getwright, 37, passed away Sunday March 30, 2008 at her residence in Gloversville. Born in Utica on March 15, 1971 she was the daughter of Charles J. Sr. and Betty Pike Dawson. Betty was a loving and devoted caregiver to her nephew Andrew Platt. She attended the FMCC L.I.F.T. Program. Betty also loved to "play" on the internet. Most of all, she was a devoted friend and will be greatly missed. Survivors include her boyfriend, Michael W. Wendell of Gloversville; her mother and stepfather, Betty and John Carter of Gloversville; her three brothers: John LeVeille of Attica, NY, Sheldon LeVeille and Charles Dawson Jr. and his fiancé Linda Brown all of Gloversville; two sisters: Peggy Adams of Schenectady and Loretta Lori Platt and her husband Bill of Gloversville; her grandmother, Ruth Feight of Johnstown; a special nephew Andrew Platt of Gloversville; her husband Peter Getwright of Gloversville; several nieces, nephews and cousins and her dog, Little Bear. She was predeceased by her father, Charles Dawson Sr., who died in 2001. Calling hours will be 12-1 pm Wednesday April 2, 2008 at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home in Gloversville. A funeral service will follow at 1 pm with the Dr. Rev. R.W. Williams officiating. Private burial will be in Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown.
