Brad was an Order of the Arrow member with the Vigil honor when I rejoined Scouting in 1986. His Indian name translated into English means â??fast talkerâ? which was appropriate because he was always trying to get you to buy something or donate items or your time for OA or Scouting. Whatâ??s important is to remember that he had no wife or children so he was always able to â??bugâ? you almost 24 hours a day. Why is that important? Because 1-It was always for the boys and 2-He never wanted honors for himself. He worked tirelessly for others so events or functions would be running smooth. Many times he would do extra because some Scout or Scouter would sort of forget or not come through with promised help. I know because I saw his phone bills. In other words, he was the type of guy who stood in the background and didnâ??t need a lot of praise but was unhappy when he did not get at least a simple thank you. We are sad that he is gone from scouting on earth but we will be happy that we were able to experience what he did. I have no doubt that when Brad gets to heaven, Sir Baden Powell and E. Urner Goodman will greet him with a handshake and Paul Kenworthy and John Zurawicki will say â??come on up Brad, thereâ??s more to be done for the boys up here.â?
Respectfully submitted by Bob Lemiszki

Brad was a long time friend and almost like a member of our family. I can remember many times him and my father working with the boy scouts. He always was a sweet and gentle guy. He was always dedidcated to the scouts doing a lot of good work for them . My mom and I will always miss him. It was with sadness that we just found out about his passing . He will always be remembered as a wonderful gentlemen.

I have known Brad for almost 40 years. First as the assistant Scout Master of troop # 33 in Perth. Through myself becoming assistant Scout Master and then Scout Master of that same Troop in the late 90's and since that time as a merit badge counselor. Brad was one of the people who gave their best to make sure that people knew the true meaning of being a Boy Scout. Rest in peace good friend. A true Scout forever.

Brad Mooney ment so much to so many. He was always there for his scouts. He made the Order of the Arrow fun because he could get on the same level as a young man and still be the adult. When we went to Ft Collins CO on a conclave he made sure we got to meet the founders of the O/A and that everybody got the most out of the programs. Some of those ideals guide me today. Thanks Brad, you will be missed.

Scouting, something created with the purpose of helping peace come to this world. Mr. Mooney protayed the idea of scouting 'til his final breath. He was a brother to many scouts and a friend to any who needed one. Your memory lives on within us all.

Brad was a very dedicated scout leader, and when it came to the Order of the Arrow OA, this was Brad's passion. Ever cheerful one of the Scout laws, he always had a smile on his face. I can recall one time Brad drove a group of us scouts on the OA's dance team to the Shriner's Hospital in Springfield, Mass. Brad took his own car on his own time to do this. I am certain he did this countless times. Rest in peace old friend, and God Bless you.

My sincerest condolences to Brad's family. Many years ago my father and Brad became friends through scouting at Troop 23 in Amsterdam. Brad spent many hours at our home with our family and we have many fond memories of those days. He was indeed the scouter's scout. Even now, I can only remember him in his scout uniform. He wore it proudly.

Brad was the Scouter's Scouter. He was always ready to lend a hand on most any Scouting project. He was a great help to me during my time as District Executive and later as Boy Scout Roundtable Commissioner.
