Obituary of Edwin Rodriguez

Mr. Edwin Rodriguez, age 47, died unexpectedly on Monday, October 5, 2009 at his home in Gloversville. He was born September 18, 1962 in Manhattan, the son of Filiberto Rodriguez and Aida Luz Ortiz. He was employed as a security guard by the New York City Aquarium on Coney Island until he became disabled in 1996. He moved from Brooklyn to Amsterdam in 1996 and then to Gloversville a year later. Edwin is survived by his father, Filiberto Rodriguez of Puerto Rico; his mother, Aida Luz Ortiz of Vega Alta, Puerto Rico; a brother, Hector Luis Cardona, Jr. and his wife, Geraldina of New London, CT; a sister, Maritza Virginia Cardona of Vega Alta, Puerto Rico; a niece, Alejandra Luz Cardona of New London, CT; two nephews, Curtis Rodriguez and Anthony Rodriguez of Brooklyn; several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his twin brother Eddie Rodriguez in 2006. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 10 at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 151 S. Main St; Gloversville, NY. The Very Rev. Donald Czelusniak will be the celebrant. There will be no calling hours. Cremation took place at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady.
