Obituary of John C. Blunck

John C. Blunck, 76, of North Pawling St., Hagaman, passed away unexpectedly Thursday January 7. 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam. Born in Amsterdam on November 7, 1933 a son of Louis and Laura Bant Blunck. He was a lifelong Amsterdam and Hagaman resident. John was home schooled and was a High School graduate. Mr. Blunck worked for a time at his family's store in Hagadorn Mills. He enjoyed fishing, attending horse shows and visiting with his friends at the Amsterdam Walmart and Subway. He was a member of the Hagaman Volunteer Fire Department and the Calvary Reformed Church in Hagaman, NY. He is survived by his sister Shirley Buchanan of Hagaman, NY. Nieces and nephews, Dwight L. Buchanan, Diane L. Sickler and Darril Buchanan. Great nieces and nephews, Zandra Buchanan, Mariah Sickler, Robert J. Sickler, Larry Ruzycky, Karen Smith, Pamela Bayes, Patty Tyler, Charles Ruzycky, Alan Ruzycky and Nick Ruzycky. Great-great niece, Emma Sickler and great-great nephew Benjamin Goetz. John was predeceased by a sister Beverly Ruzycky on August 7, 1983 and a nephew John Ruzycky. Funeral services will be held on Thursday January 14, 2010 at 1:00P.M. at the Calvary Reformed Church, 10 Church St., Hagaman, NY with Rev. Stanley Craig presiding. Interment of Cremains will be held in the spring in Hagaman Mills Cemetery, Hagaman, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday January 14, 2010 from 11:00AM to 1:00PM prior to the funeral service at the Calvary Reformed Church. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the Calvary Reformed Church, 10 Church St., Hagaman, NY 12086 or to the Hagaman Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 328, Hagaman, NY 12086.
