My wife and I are saddened to hear about the loss of Maggie. We offer our deepest sympathies.
Ever since I was a teenager, I would stop by and visit. Maggie would offer me a snack and Earl and I would sit and talk about fishing.
As an adult, my wife and I would visit and bring them a sweet bread or some other Portuguese goodie from RI. They eagerly welcomed us. Maggie would fix us up a snack and Earl would make us a drink. I enjoyed talking with them very much. They were very proud of their grandkids and would tell us about them. We'd share stories about our son and what we were up to.
Although we weren't able to visit very often, Connie and I both miss them very much. They were wonderful people and I am glad to have known them.

Dear Jeff, Jim and families,
I am sorry for the loss of your mother. I have fond memories of her. The best was one summer when I was in college. I was taking my roommate on a tour of the Reservoir. We were getting hungry and near your parents home camp. We stopped and your Mom was very gracious. She welcomed us, fed us and was charming! She was a great lady!

Dear Jeff, Jim and families,
I was so saddened to read of your Mom's passing. The last time I saw her was when your Dad was a patient at the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility. My sister, Denise, and I were long-time employees at that institution. It was so nice to reminisce with your parents about our fun times in Johnstown and Northville. We go back a long time, don't we? I know that Dottie, Spottie, Maggie and Earl have been reunited in Heaven and are having a ball catching up. Please know that I am holding you both in my thoughts and prayers and want you both to know how much I valued your Mom and Dad's friendship with my parents.
Sincerely, Debbie Herrick Porter

So many memories of this beautiful lady that will live forever in all of our lives. Maggie touched many with her grace and love for life. I will always cherish the memories of planning a surprise wedding shower for Karen before her wedding to Jim. Maggie, Luddie and I had many giggles over the plans. Then a few years later the birth of Leah and Kyle and how Maggie's life was filled with excitement to watch these two precious grandchild grow and develop with the guidance of responsible parents and with the loving spoiling of Maggie, Earl, Luddie and Stan. Life is all about memories and may the memories you have of your Mom sustain at this difficult time. Jim, you were her remarkable son, always there to help and support Maggie during her last years. There will always a special place for you and Karen in Maggie's heart. With deepest sympathy, respect for Jim and Karen, our love and respect goes to you.

Dear Jeff, Jim and families..
So many mixed emotions overcame me as I read of your beloved Mom's passing. It seems like yesterday that we were all young and having the times of our lives! Maggie, Earl, Dot and Spot having fun at the bowling alley and camp...and ,of course, Deb and I and you guys were young, silly and good friends.
Now, here we are mourning your Dear Mom's passing and I ask myself, "Where has the time gone?" It sounds as if Maggie lead a full, rich, rewarding life and you both now have beautiful families that your Mom and Dad were both so fond and proud of!
So, I now send you my sincere sympathy and I hope time and memories will bring you all much comfort and strength.
I can't help but think that Mom, Dad, Maggie and Earl are laughing and bowling and catching up on old times right now! They were such good friends!
My thoughts and prayers are with you. I wish you all everything you need to get you through this difficult time.
Sincerely, Denise Herrick Spedding
