Obituary of David Sprung
David Sprung, age 56, of Gloversville passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday August 24, 2010 at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville.
He was born in Gloversville, NY on June 16, 1954 the son of the late Donald and Jennie Clark Sprung.
David was a 1972 graduate of Gloversville High School.
Following high school David went on to SUNY Cobleskill to pursue his dream of working within the Standard Bred Racing Association. He achieved his goals and managed many barns in New York State. One of the proudest moments in David's life was working with one of the Sire Stakes winners. Following his time within the Standard Bred Racing Association David went on to Fulton Montgomery Community College and was employed by the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility as a Pharmacy Technician. He retired in 2007 due to illness. David loved the New Orleans Saints and the cry of "you ain't beat dem' Saints" could be heard whenever they played. He was also a fan of NASCAR and was active in the family go-cart racing venture.
David is survived by his daughter, Melissa Kenyon Paul of Johnstown, two beloved granddaughters Hunter and Ashley, a brother Daniel Sprung Kelly, three sisters Janice Baumgaertel Robert, Donna Sprung and JoAnn Samrov Richard.
Additional survivors include: several nieces and nephews as well as his four-legged companion, Dooley.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Saturday August 28, 2010 at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. Cremation will take place at Parkview Crematorium, Schenectady.
