Obituary of Robert W. Bisset

Mr. Robert W. Bisset, age 80, of Gloversville, died Friday, May 19, 2017 at Mountain Valley Hospice, Gloversville. He was born October 11, 1936 in Pawtucket, RI, the son of Alfred and Hilda Stott Bisset. He was a 1954 graduate of Cumberland High School in Rhode Island and attended Springfield College. He served in the US Air Force from 1955 to 1959. Bob was employed by Household Finance Company for 8 years in New England and in 2000 retired as Sr. Vice President at City National Bank, Gloversville, following 32 years of service. He was a member of the former First Presbyterian Church of Gloversville and the South Venice Presbyterian Church in Florida, where he had wintered since retirement. He was treasurer of the former Gloversville Chamber of Commerce and trustee of the former First United Methodist Church of Gloversville, a member of the NYSBA Legislative Committee, Past President and Board Member of both the Eccentric Club and Pine Brook Golf Club and member of the St. Andrews Society of New York. Bob was married to Ruth A. Billington on September 17, 1960. Ruth died on November 17, 2016. He is survived by three children, Robert Scott Bisset of Plano, TX, Christine M. McDermott (Timothy) of St. Charles, MO and David A. Bisset (Tanya) of Plano, TX; a brother, Alfred G. Bisset of Darien, CT; two granddaughters, Haley McDermott and Brooklyn Bisset; as well as five nieces and nephews. The family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00AM to 12:00PM on Wednesday, May 24 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St, Gloversville, where a Funeral Service will follow at 12:00PM with the Rev.
