Obituary of Elizabeth Guadagno

Ms. Elizabeth Anne Auriemma Guadagno of Amsterdam, NY, passed away Saturday morning June 3, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Amsterdam, NY on March 1, 1939, a daughter of the late Peter and Jeanette Casagrandi Auriemma. Liz was a lifelong Amsterdam resident and was a graduate of Amsterdam Schools. Elizabeth was employed for many years by the New York State Department of Transportation in Fultonville, NY. She was of the Roman Catholic Faith. Liz enjoyed traveling with family to Hawaii, Florida and the many trips to the Jersey Shore. Elizabeth also enjoyed playing cards with her friends, planting her flower garden and shopping. Liz loved being around little children and was a grandmother to all who knew her. Survivors include her loving children, William "Billy" Gibson (Emily) of Niskayuna, NY, Rebecca "Becca" Gibson of Amsterdam, NY and Brenda "Granny" (Jeffrey) Hardies of Amsterdam, NY. One sister, Marion Bienick of Amsterdam. Four grandchildren, Jennifer (Bryan) Medina, Sarah(Chris) Patti , Ryan Gibson and Briana Kelly. Three great-grandchildren, Brynn Medina , Alexzandr Patti and Alivia Patti. Nieces and nephews, Kim (Joseph) Kelly, Sherri Van Wie, Joseph "Joey" Van Wie and Mark (Annie) Bienick. Several cousins also survive. Elizabeth was predeceased by her beloved son Brian Jay Gibson on May 24, 2000. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Alfred and Peter Auriemma, her sisters Antoinette Van Wie and Rosemarie Auriemma and two brothers-in-law, John Bienick and Joseph Van Wie. Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Amsterdam, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be to the Montgomery County SPCA, PO Box 484, Amsterdam, NY 12010 or to the Community Hospice of Amsterdam, 246 Manny Corners Rd., Amsterdam, NY 12010.
