Obituary of Violet J. Brasmeister
Mrs. Violet J. Brasmeister, 95, of Pattersonville, NY, passed away peacefully Sunday morning June 4, 2017 at Edward L. Wilkinson Health Care Facility in Amsterdam.
Born June 25, 1921 in Ballston Spa, NY, a daughter of the late George and Anna Bohadlo Moltrup. She was a lifelong area resident and attended Cobleskill High School.
Violet married Charles Brasmeister on October 18, 1941. He passed away on October 19, 1985. She was also predeceased by her son, Roy C. Brasmeister in 2016 and her siblings, George "Sonny" Moltrup Jr., Donald Moltrup, Earl Moltrup and Etta Schmid.
Violet was a homemaker and took care of her family. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, raising chickens and playing cards. She was also an avid hunter. She hunted turkey, deer and also enjoyed fishing. Violet was a member of the Woestina Reformed Church in Pattersonville, NY.
She has lived Pattersonville since 1951.
Violet is survived by a son, Douglas (Joan) Brasmeister of Fultonville, NY, a daughter, Shirley (Edward) Karchesky of Amsterdam, NY, daughter-in-law Patricia Brasmeister of Mariaville, NY, and one sister, Doris Webb. Nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and sisters-in-law, Evelyn Cooper of Frostproof, FL and Elsie Potts of Amsterdam, NY. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday June 8, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY with Rev. Cynthia Leonard presiding. Interment will follow in the Woestina Cemetery, Pattersonville, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday June 7, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
