Obituary of Arlene M. Krutz
Arlene "Bah" Margaret (Smith) Krutz age 89 yrs. of North Road, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Amsterdam NY on July 30, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Hedwig (Kolterman) Smith who immigrated from Germany in 1900. She was raised in West Glenville and was a 1944 graduate of Scotia-Glenville High School. Mrs. Krutz was employed as a dental assistant in Scotia and a housewife. A life long member of the First Reformed Church of Glenville, she also served on the Consistory for many years for the congregation, was a member of the Ladies Aid Society and taught Sunday School. She was a communicant of the Calvary Reformed Church of Hagaman for the past 9 years as she enjoyed worshipping there with her daughter who is the church organist. She was also a member of the West Glenville Ladies Auxiliary of the West Glenville Fire Company.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 58 years, Arthur Carl Krutz, whom she married on June 9, 1946 at the First Reformed Church of Glenville.
Arlene loved cooking, baking, sewing, and crocheting. She also enjoyed gardening with her husband and building their house together. She enjoyed taking care of her granddaughters as they grew up and camping with them at Fish Creek.
Survivors include her loving daughter and caregiver, Linda Arlene and her husband Michael Podolec of West Glenville; and her son, Roger Arthur and his wife Diane of East Greenbush; her granddaughters, Susan Lynn (Podolec) Hoefer and her husband John, Janet Lynn (Podolec) Fessenden and her husband Todd; and her grandson Reuben Arthur Krutz; and her beloved great-grandchildren Jenavieve Arlene Hoefer and Jacob William Hoefer and her great-granddog Toly.
Relatives and Friends are invited to call at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home 171 Guy Park Ave. Amsterdam NY 12010 on Wednesday 6/28/2017 from 1 to 2 pm with a 2 pm funeral service at the funeral home with Reverend Stan Craig Pastor of the Calvary Reformed Church of Hagaman. With a private burial to follow next to her late husband.
In lieu of flowers Contributions may be made to the Calvary Reformed Church, 10 Church Street Hagaman NY.
