Obituary of Tom Orlosky

Warner T. "Tom" Orlosky, 78 of Mohawk Drive in Fonda passed away peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam with his loving family by his side. He was born August 9, 1933 in Johnstown, NY, the son of the late Alfred and Pearl Williams Orlosky. Tom was a life time resident of the area and attended local schools. In his last year of high school he enlisted in the United States Marines and was honorably discharged in 1959. He was a proud veteran. Before and after entering the service, Tom was a painter he was in the Union, Local 201 He enjoyed hunting and fishing and traveling in his younger days. He also liked to read, and do crossword puzzles, play pitch, shoot pool and try his luck on lotto tickets. He was a member of the VFW in Fonda, Post 942 and a former member of the American Legion in Amsterdam. Tom was also known for his witty sense of humor and his practical jokes. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially adored his grand kids. His loving family includes his wife, Gloria Calhoun Orlosky, whom he wed on February 4, 1978. His sons Wayne Orlosky Jan Chesterton of Saratoga and Jefferey Orlosky Susan Holmes of Amsterdam. Step sons, David Vertucci Pam Walker of Fonda and Keith Patsy Vertucci of Tribes Hill; Beloved grandchildren, Lisa and Mike, Vanessa and Steve, Ashley, Kelly and Dominic, Nathan, Brittany and Eric, Stacy and Chris; great grandchildren, Taylor, Katie, Gianna and Rylan. He is also survived by three sisters, Eleanor Burnes, Barbara Mack and Karla Orlosky. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers, Peter, Richard and Buck Orlosky, his sister Midge DePasquale and his daughter in law Barbara Vertucci. Funeral services for Tom will be on Monday, September 5, 2011 at 10 AM at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street Fultonville NY 12072. Rev. Wade Prime will officiate. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Tribes Hill. Calling hours will be on Sunday, September 4, 2011 from 2 until 4PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association of NYS or to Camp Huntington in care of the funeral home office.
