Obituary of Joseph B. Francis

Joseph B. Francis, Jr., 90, formerly of Amsterdam, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2011 at the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility with his loving family by his side. He was born January 4, 1921 in East Boston, Massachusetts. He was the son of the late Joseph and Margarite Tericia Francis. Joseph is a graduate of East Boston High School, class of 1939. He was enlisted in the United States Army and served in WWII. Joseph was a resident of Massachusetts most of his life, he worked for the United States Postal Service for twenty years as a Mail Handler. He also worked for some time as a meat cutter in Boston and as a Food Service Director for the city of Medford. He moved to the Amsterdam area in 1999. His loving family includes his son Dennis Diane Francis of Tewksbury, MA. and daughter Lorraine Anthony "Duke" Duchessi of Amsterdam and a brother John Francis of Cleveland, OH. He is also survived by his grand children Catherine and Phyllis Francis and Phillip and Denise Rossignal, and two great grandchildren Michelle West and Anthony Snyder. Joseph was predeceased by his first wife , the former Phyllis Lalli and his second wife, the former Carmella McKenzie. Funeral services will be private and have been entrusted to Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY.
