Obituary of Prudence P. Frostbutter

Mrs. Prudence P. Frostbutter, 79, of Wolf Hollow Road, Scotia, NY died peacefully on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at St. Peter's Hospital In Albany, NY. A lifelong area resident, Prue was born on January 17, 1932 the daughter of Kostanty and Aniela Vicunas Sawicki in Amsterdam, NY. She attended local schools and was a former parishioner of St. Casimir's R.C. Church. Prue was employed in the meat department as a wrapper at P&C Supermarket in Schenectady for a number of years until her retirement. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Donald W. Frostbutter, Sr.; her children, Donald M. Frostbutter, Jr.; LaDonna Fetter of Humble, TX and Laura Sondey and her husband Mike of Newnan, GA; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Chester, Mitchell and Zygfred Sawicki; and her sisters, Regina Gleason- Sarline, Wilhelmena Kerible and Alfreda Romanowski. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 11:15a.m. at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam with the Rev. John Medwid as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Casimir's Cemetery.
