Obituary of Christine M. Nigro
Mrs. Christine M. Nigro, 59, of Gloversville, passed away suddenly on September 21, 2011. She was born in Troy N.Y. on May 16, 1952, a daughter of Bruce and Carolyn Corbett Reid. Mrs. Nigro was a graduate of Averill Park High School and attended classes at Albany University and the College of St. Rose. She continued a deep passion for reading and learning her whole life. Despite a chronic illness, Christine was always a very optimistic person who took great joy in her family and in life's small pleasures. They are devoted members of The Church of the Holy Spirit.
She is survived by her husband Richard A. Nigro of Gloversville whom she married April 7, 1973. Christine is also survived by her children; Michael A, Nigro of Bennington, VT. and Bryan Nigro of Gloversville. She is survived by her parents of Averill Park, a brother Daniel Reid Brenda of Postenkill, and a sister Nora Reid-Craven and her husband Wayne Craven of Brunswick, N.Y., nieces and nephews. Christine was pre-deceased by a sister Beth Vonn.
She was the heart and center of our family.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 am Monday September 26, 2011 at The Church of the Holy Spirit, 149 S. Main St. Gloversville. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3-6 pm at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St. Gloversville. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to Reverend Oliver J. Smalls Jr., Holy Redeemer Cathedral Parish, Belize, in C/O the funeral home.
