Obituary of Mary Anne Agosta

Mary Anne Agosta, previously of Grieme Ave., Amsterdam, passed away Sunday morning July 9, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam. Born in Amsterdam, NY on June 1, 1931, a daughter of Carmen and Anna Elwell Agosta, She attended local schools and was a lifelong resident. Mary Anne was employed as a legal secretary for Carl S. Salmon Jr. for 41 years of dedicated service, and she retired on July 1, 1994. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church. Her loving family includes, her brother, Gabriel Agosta of Amsterdam, her sister, Rose Andrews of Albany, her nieces, Anne Marie Murdico (Joseph) of Amsterdam, Elizabeth Traskos of Perth, Gabrielle Marotta (Anthony) of Amsterdam, nephews, Carmen J. Agosta (Kimberly) of Rotterdam, Frank Agosta (Shirley) of Schenectady, cousins, great nieces and great nephews, and very dear friend, Del B. Salmon also survive. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday July 13, 2017 at 11:15A.M. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church, 39 St. John St., Amsterdam with Father Lawrence J. Decker as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Tribes Hill, NY. It was Mary Anne's request that there be no calling hours. Contributions may be made in her memory to the Montgomery County SPCA , 1007 State Highway 5S., Amsterdam, NY 12010.
