Obituary of Richard G. Simpson

Mr. Richard G. Simpson, 70, of Gloversville, passed away at Albany Medical Center with his loving son by his side. Born on April 19, 1947 he was the son of the late Willard and Hazel LaPort Simpson. A lifelong area resident, Richard was employed as an Auto Body Mechanic. Richard spent countless hours working on cars with his son. He enjoyed camping, fishing and riding motorcycles in his free time. Survivors include his beloved son, Brett Simpson and his companion Sarah Pillo of Gloversville; his daughter, Kelly Dietz Newsome; his companion, Cheryl LaVoie; his granddaughter, Julianna Simpson; his beloved dog, Pogo; his best friends, Glen Sanders and Joe Caputo Sr.; cousins and many friends. A Gathering will take place on Friday, July 28, 2017 from 1p.m. until 4p.m. at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street Gloversville, NY. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
