Obituary of Glen P. Sanders

Glen P. Sanders, age 74, of Gloversville, died Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady, following a short illness. He was born January 17, 1943 in Gloversville, the son of Eseck and Kathleen Deming Sanders. He served in the US Air Force in England, France and Germany until 1964. Glen resided in Florida for several years and locally was a well-known automobile mechanic at several dealerships in the area including Rose Pontiac, Buick, GMC until it closed. He also worked as a property manager from 2006 to 2010. Glen is survived by his wife, Marilyn E. Wilson Sanders, whom he married in 2000; three children, Christine Nevels, Jennifer Richmond and Daniel Sanders and his wife Jessica, all of Gloversville; four step-children, Hope Keba of Canajoharie, David Strauser of Gloversville, Paul Strauser of Canajoharie and Kimberly Goodemote of Gloversville; two brothers, Donald Sanders of Gloversville and Daryl Sanders of Florida; 16 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, also a grandson, Austin L. Sanders-Simek; a stepson, Jason Hicock; and his good friend Rick Simpson who died three days prior to Glen. A memorial service will take place at 11:00am on Saturday, July 29th at the Baptist Church of Northville, 111 North First St; Northville, with the Rev. Richard C. Klueg officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville.
