Obituary of Phyllis M. Parry

Mrs. Phyllis M. "Phidy" Parry, 84, of Tribes Hill, passed away Tuesday July 25, 2017 at the Home of the Good Shepherd in Saratoga Springs, NY with her family at her side. Born in Amsterdam, NY on September 26, 1932 a daughter of the late Robert and Anna Burrell Hutchison. She was a lifelong area resident and was a graduate of the former Wilbur. H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam Class of 1950. She married her husband Donald E. Parry on June 20, 1953. Phyllis was employed by the former New York Telephone Company in Amsterdam and Schenectady as a phone operator and a cashier for many years. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, The Order of the Eastern Star (Art-Wel) Chapter. Phyllis was also the Secretary, Treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors for over 20 years for the Pine Grove Cemetery Association in Tribes Hill, NY. She was an avid bowler and bowled in various leagues for over 25 years. Phyllis enjoyed traveling with her husband and friends in her retirement. She enjoyed winters in Florida and summers at the camp on Sacandaga Lake. She especially enjoyed their trips to Alaska and Scotland. She cherished the time spent with her family and friends until her last day. Phyllis is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Donald E. Parry, her loving daughter, Sharon Parry Sykes, her dear sister, Barbara Campbell, son- in-law, Harold Moran. Six Cherished grandchildren, Kelly (Jess) Premo, Jonathan Sykes, Jennifer (Shaun) Burke, Kevin Sykes, Nathan Adams and Ashleigh Adams. One great-grandson, Trevor Premo. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Phyllis was predeceased by her loving daughter, Barbara Parry Moran on April 21, 2013. The family would like to thank everyone that took such wonderful care of Phyllis in Tribes Hill, Greenwich and most recently in Saratoga Springs at the Home of the Good Shepherd. Funeral Services will be held on Friday July 28, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Tribes Hill Presbyterian Church, 116 Elizabeth St., Tribes Hill, NY with Rev. Laurence C. Greenwold presiding. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Tribes Hill, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday July 27, 2017 from 4 to 7:00 PM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam. An Eastern Star service will be held on Thursday at the funeral home.
