Obituary of Kathleen Ann Lang

Mrs. Kathleen Ann "Mickey" Lang, 87, currently of Niskayuna, formerly of Amsterdam, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, July 28, 2017. Her passing occurred at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady, following an illness. She was born on May 3, 1930, in Bronx, NY daughter of the late Stephen and Kathleen (Gill) Ryan and received her education in New York City schools and graduated from Christopher Columbus High School with the class of 1947. She was united in marriage with Wilbur Lang on Nov. 18, 1955, a union of 13 years until his passing on Dec. 31, 1968. Mickey kept busy being involved in numerous volunteer activities. Her favorite pastimes included crocheting, knitting, reading, games and puzzles and she was an avid NY Yankee fan. She was of the Catholic faith. Survivors include her beloved family; her daughter, Lisa Ann Filkins (Robert) of Niskayuna; step-son, Terence Lang (Barbara) of CT; step-daughter, Wilda Holloway (Schuyler) of Amsterdam; sister, Elizabeth Zurawicki of Amsterdam; in laws, Roxann Ryan of Amsterdam and William and Norma Gleason of Amsterdam; grandchildren, Noah, Kayleigh, Ainsley and Cooper Filkins and Jesse and Travis Lang. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her brother, Stephen Ryan; grandson, Jeremy Lang and brother-in-law, John Zurawicki. The family will receive relatives and friends at Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam on Monday, July 31, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. Mickey's funeral will commence on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 10 am from the Share Life chapel at Betz, Rossi and Bellinger with Father Pascal "Pat" Iannotti, officiating. Procession will follow to Chuctanunda Cemetery, Amsterdam where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
