Obituary of David A. Petrosino

Mr. David Alphonso Petrosino, 67, of Amsterdam passed away peacefully on Monday July 31, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in Amsterdam, NY on August 4, 1949 a son of the late Joseph Petrosino and Josephine Materazzo Petrosino. He was a lifelong Amsterdam resident and a 1967 graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School. Dave had a passion for making model cars which he shared by gifting them to his loved ones. But most of all Dave enjoyed spending time with his family. He was always quick with a joke, and will be missed by all who knew him. He was a communicant of the former St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. Dave is predeceased by his wife Kay Petrosino. Survivors include his beloved mother, Josephine Materazzo Petrosino of Amsterdam. His loving daughter, Sharon Petrosino (Rick Dusenbury) of Amsterdam. One dear sister, Gail (Michael) Marotta of Amsterdam,NY. Granddaughter, Brittani (Jeremiah) Thompson of Saratoga Springs, NY. His niece, Kristina Marotta of Amsterdam. Step-daughter, Tammy L. Zabawczuk (Robert Kilmer) of Fultonville, NY. Grandson, Patrick (Jessica) Earl. Great-grandchildren, Kassidy, Liam and Logan. Aunts and cousins also survive. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday August 3, 2017 from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Funeral Service and Interment is private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Healthcare Addiction Services, 427 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010 or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
