Obituary of Leasa Lynnette Newbold

Amsterdam, NY-Leasa Lynnette Newbold, 47, of Virginia Lane, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam with the love and support of her entire family. Her passing occurred due to a massive heart attack. She passed instantly and with no pain. She was born on Sept. 20, 1969 in New York City, daughter of the late James Lott and Janice Newbold of Amsterdam. She received her education in New York City Public Schools and attended Marymont College in New York City. Leasa and her family came to the Amsterdam area in 2002. Her last professional employment was with the Liberty House, Amsterdam and was formerly employed with the New York City Housing Authority. In her spare time, Leasa enjoyed reading, watching her shows and most of all being with her family. Leasa life would seem short to many but she gave to everyone from the goodness of heart not wanting anything in return. Survivors include her loving family; her mother, Janice Newbold of Amsterdam; her children, Kangela, Derek and was predeceased by her two children, Heavyn and Brandon; survivors also include three grandchildren, Kangelice (Beautifull) Kataleya (Gorgeous) and Kyng (Pop pop); son in law, Maurice Jr. all of Amsterdam; three uncles, Servelle of Monticello, Melvin of NYC, Ivan of Bronx, NY; two aunts, Rhonda and Donna both of Bronx, NY; her "ears" Kayla and her "rock" Willet and a host of relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Leasa's funeral service commencing at 4 pm on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 from the chapel of Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam. Visitation will be held also on Wednesday from the funeral home from 3-4 p.m. Burial will be private. Please offer online condolences here.
