Obituary of Virginia Nevich
Virginia Nevich, of Johnstown, passed away on August 12, 2017 at 2:18am.
Born on September 10, 1927 in Amsterdam, New York, a daughter of the late John and Anna Yakas Crouse. She was a lifelong area resident and attended Amsterdam schools.
She was employed in Sales for over 28 years at Amsterdam Printing and Litho Company. She also worked for a time at the New York State Department of Tax and Finance and the Scotia, NY Naval Supply Depot.
She was an avid reader, she loved dancing and traveling across the country. She also enjoyed her visits to the ocean and spending time with her family.
Virginia was a communicant of the former St. Casimir's Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam.
She married William Nevich on October 5, 1946. He passed away on March 18, 2008. Virginia was predeceased also by her son Thomas W. Nevich on December 2, 2016.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Warner of Pulaski, NY. Four cherished grandchildren, Neil (Melissa) Nevich of Charlotte, NC, Megan (Matt) McClearn of Watervliet, NY, Austin Warner of Gabriels, NY and Forrest (Katie) Warner of Waterville, NY; and five great-grandchildren: Austin and Sebastian Warner, Ava Nevich, and Emeliana and Elijah McClearn. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday August 15, 2017 at 11:00A.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam with Father O. Robert DeMartinis presiding. Interment will follow in St. Casimir's Cemetery, Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday August 14, 2017 from 5pm to 7pm at the funeral home.
